Workshops are a great way to get a group of people together whether it’s friends, families, co-workers or complete strangers, we can all learn together, share ideas and put new tools into practice.  Some workshops are discussion/education format and some are more practical.

Any type of yoga class you can imagine can work because there is a type of yoga for everybody. I specialize in the different. The reason for that is that it may get people doing yoga who would never have tried it before.  It can also add an element of play or fun, which we all need a little more in our lives or it can add an education piece so it becomes a practical means to learning.   Yoga is comprehensive and the core components of yoga can be incorporated into many variations.  Remember, the physical postures or poses are only one eighth of yoga.  We can expand to learn about positive ways to live our lives with self care and respect for ourselves and others.  We can learn to be more present or mindful through movement and breath practice.  We can find ways that work for us to bring meditation into our lives so that we can become more focuses, calm, productive, resilient and cope better with stress.  In my classes, I focus on the breath, body alignment and letting go.  My classes are also very safety because I focus heavily on safety, anatomy and providing options for all levels.  With my years of experience and the addition of trauma-sensitive yoga training, every class is for every person.

My current schedule includes Yoga for Strength at 12:10.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays this class will have a heavier focus on core strength.  On Fridays it will be a little less intense and be 30 min of yoga that focuses on building strength and 15 min deeper stretch and meditation/mindfulness) , All Levels Yoga and Gentle Yoga (30 min All Levels format and 30 min gentle poses to stretch and find relaxation).

Bootcamp and Group Fitness

There is no greater motivation than exercising amongst friends. Group classes can bring a sense of camaraderie in that “we are in this together”! Research has shown that finding a friend to exercise with not only keeps us accountable but also ensures we stick with it.

Bootcamp is no longer than 30 minutes.  If provides a full body workout including cardio, strength and flexibility.  My Bootcamps are all levels so that anyone can do them.  I offer lots of options to push yourself and be successful while allowing for growth and achievable goals.

Group Fitness is a class that allows a group of people with common fitness interests to come together, get a workout and have some fun.  The added benefit of working in a group is support, accountability, encouragement and maybe even a little competition.   Classes vary in length and can range anywhere from 10 minutes to 90 minutes depending on the type of class.

Lectures/Speaking Engagements/Information Sessions

A great way to share information is to a group.  Any of the topics related to may workshops, classes or coaching can be presented in a lecture, speaking event or information session.  This format provides the audience with information about a certain topic to educate, motivate or create new ideas or practices.

Feeling overwhelmed? Need someone to help you stay on track?  I can help coach you to reduce stress and find time to care for yourself so you can live your life and care for others as well as find wellness – mind, body and spirit.

A series of personal appointments will find what works with your own personal lifestyle and commitments and then helps to keep you on track with regular check-ins, self-reporting and personal goals

I also coach small groups or can provide more information on goal setting, stress management and self care through my lectures, speaking events or information sessions as indicated above.

For all workshops full payment must be received 3 days prior to this workshop to register for a spot.  Payment can be made via cash, cheque or etransfer.  There will be no refunds; only credit given towards future classes.

Yoga & the Pelvic Floor  SOLD OUT! This class with be a workshop style comprised of discussion about the pelvic floor.  Our discussion will include what exactly the pelvic floor is, why it’s important to be aware of its function and perhaps dysfunction, how it affects our entire body and how to move forward with an awareness of its functioning. Women and men, alike, have issues with pelvic floor functioning and can benefit from a greater knowledge of this area of our body.  We will also explore yoga poses and how they provide an awareness, insight or assist in strengthening or relaxing the muscles of the pelvic floor. 

This class will be on Tuesday February 11th from 7-8:30pm in my home studio.  Cost is $25 and will include a journal.  To register please contact me and provide payment via cash, cheque or etransfer. No refunds provided, only credit for future classes.  No refunds or credit if cancellation is made within 24 hours of the class. 

RESTORATIVE YOGA – SOLD OUT IN FEBRUARY! last Sunday of each month at 3:00 and 7:00pm (75 minutes) – February 23rd
 
Restorative Yoga is time we take to hold restorative poses to allow the body to rest, recover and find healing.  We hold 5-6 poses for about 10 minutes each using props so we find a peaceful, passive stretch which engages our parasympathetic nervous system to “rest and digest”.  We finish the class with a 10 minute Yoga Nidra (aka Sleep Yoga).  This class is most especially important to those who are always on the go or always workout but don’t take time for recovery.  Cost is $20.  This class is in my home studio.  I can take 5 participants for each class.

Here is my February 2020 schedule.  All 12:10 classes are located at 40 White Oak Drive East  (Kuk Sool Won) and cost $8 per class or $75 for a 10 pass.   All evening and weekend classes are located in my home studio.  Prices vary.  Please contact me for details or to get on the waiting list for regularly scheduled classes.
