Yoga Classes

Any type of yoga class you can imagine can work! I specialize in the different. Yoga is comprehensive and the core components of yoga can be incorporated into many variations. Focus on the breath, body alignment and letting go – of competition and judgment; of limitations.

With my years of experience and the addition of trauma-sensitive yoga training, every class is for every person.

My current schedule includes Yoga for Strength at 12:10.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays this class will have a heavier focus on core strength.  On Fridays it will be a little less intense and be 30 min of yoga that focuses on building strength and 15 min deeper stretch and meditation/mindfulness) , All Levels Yoga and Gentle Yoga (30 min All Levels format and 30 min gentle poses to stretch and find relaxation).

GROUP FITNESS CLASSES

There is no greater motivation than exercising amongst friends. Group classes can bring a sense of camaraderie in that “we are in this torture together”!

Research has shown that finding a friend to exercise with not only keeps us accountable but also ensures we stick with it.

Some of the classes I can offer include DanceFit, Bootcamp, Cardio Sculpt, and MMA Cardio.

Some of my yoga classes such as CoreFit Yoga have been called “yoga not yoga” which would qualify them as group fitness also!

Health and Fitness Workshops

For all workshops full payment must be received 3 days prior to this workshop to register for a spot.  Payment can be made via cash, cheque or etransfer.  There will be no refunds; only credit given towards future classes.

CHAKRA DANCE AND MEDITATION – FRIDAY NOVEMBER 29TH 7:00-8:30PM

This class is a fun and energy filled class with a 15-minute meditation at the end. The class is structured to let loose and dance, on your own terms or to some choreographed moves, to 1-2 songs to stimulate each of the 7 chakras.  We will review what each chakra represents and the subtle energy we are trying to stimulate.  Don’t know anything about chakras?  No worry; this class is meant to be fun and informative with a lovely relaxation at the end.  If you want more information on the chakras let me know so I can plan 2020 workshops!

 This class will be located at 40 White Oak Drive (Kuk Sool Won) on Friday November 29 at 7:00pm.  It will run approximately 90 minutes.  There are change rooms on site as well as 2 washrooms and lots of parking. We will be dancing bare or sock foot on a cushioned floor with glow sticks and jewelery surrounded by string lights, imitation candles and a disco ball!  It will be somewhat dark so don’t worry about your dance moves; the point is to just move, share some information and have some fun!!  This class is a great way to have some fun and let loose with some friends.  The last 15 minutes will be a guided chakra meditation which wraps up everything from the previous 75 minutes with a nice bow.

CREATING ACHIEVABLE GOALS – TUESDAY DECEMBER 3RD 7:00-8:30PM

There are times throughout the year when we typically decide to set some goals – goals to be healthier, to lose weight, to achieve something, to complete something, to learn something etc.  Whatever your goal is, you want to set yourself up for success in achieving that goal.  This workshop will help you to define what your intentions are, what goal you would like to set to meet those intentions, how to create a plan to achieve your goal and how to measure your success.  

This workshop will be in my home studio at 15 Parkinworth Place on Tuesday December 3 from 7:00-8:30pm (90 minutes) and will cost $20.  This will include a goal journal.  Limited to 10 participants.  Please email me to register.  Payment can be made via cash, cheque or etransfer.  

FREE ALL LEVELS YOGA – WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 25TH 1:00-2:00PM

I am so grateful to offer my 3rd Annual Free All Levels Yoga on December 25th!  Thank you to Kuk Sool Won for donating the space once again. I plan the timing of this class so it’s between gift opening and eating dinner, if you celebrate Christmas.  If not, it’s a nice midday retreat!

This class will be located at 40 White Oak Drive East.  There is lots of parking and change rooms on site.  I do have yoga mats available but I always recommend bringing your own mat as well as water.  Dress in layers or bring a blanket to stay warm for the final relaxation at the end.  This year it will be a guided progressive relaxation from head to toe!! Here is my November 2019 schedule.  All 12:10 classes are located at 40 White Oak Drive East  (Kuk Sool Won) and cost $8 per class or $75 for a 10 pass.   All evening and weekend classes are located in my home studio.  Prices vary.  Please contact me for details or to get on the waiting list for regularly scheduled classes.
